Ciancimino jr. writes again for BlogSicilia: “Alone in the courtroom”
Massimo Ciancimino has written again for BlogSicilia today. The son of Vito Ciancimino, the mafioso ex-Mayor of Palermo (Sicily), is testifying about the connections between the Mob and the Government, especially during the slaughters of the magistrates Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino in Palermo in 1992.
Ciancimino decided to reply to Pippo Giordano’s article, published 2 days ago. Giordano, a former anti-mafia police inspector, who also worked with Paolo Borsellino, had shown Ciancimino jr. solidarity and understanding and especially an exhortation NOT to give up on this difficult path of testimony.
“Thank you very much for your words”- said Ciancimino to Giordano. “I know perfectly well the common places that are related to my decision and my person. …..He wants to save his patrimony, if he knew all these things why he hasn’t talked before, he is manipulated by the Prosecutor’s office to hit Berlusconi (just like a judiciary Tartaglia), and so on…”
“When I make statements, and I know they are quite relevant, in the courtroom I am alone and I take the responsibility for all I say. I repeat that I don’t have the absolute truth, it’s the legal system that has to verify my testimony. Even if I am extremely worn out right now, I am sure that, once again, when I’ll be in front of the magistrates Ingroia, Di Matteo, Lari, Scarpinato, Guido, Gozzo, Paci, Bertone, Marino, Del Bene, Tescaroli, I will change my mind and keep doing what I am doing.”
