Palermo: models and garbage together for “Aziza Munnizza”

Creativity never ends. A very eccentric photographic setting was realised in Sicily without spending any euros. The idea was putting some models next to the several bags of rubbish, rubbish that infest the streets of Palermo every day.

The idea was born to draw the attention on the emergency of rubbish and the project, called Aziza Munnizza, will be inaugurated on march the 16th at Palazzo Fatta in Palermo. The term “aziza”, which means the Beautiful, is the name given by the Arabs in 827 a.c., while “munnizza” means garbage in Sicilian dialect.

The pictures were taken by Matframat, an artistic association whose members are Matilde Incorpora, a phographer, Francesca Catania, a fashion stylist and Matilde Caruso, a model. The set was prepared with the help of Dario Feo, and apart from Matilde Caruso, also posed Roberto Riili, Giulia Tetamo, Martina Vasta and Paolo Vitale.

In other words: how to transform something to be ashamed of into something interesting to talk about. How smart!
